Julia Bell and Gaylene Gould present a new series of monthly podcasts exclusively for the Writers Hub.

Julia Bell is a novelist and Senior Lecturer on the Birkbeck Writing Programme and Project Director of the Writers' Hub. She has published two novels for young adults - Massive and Dirty Work, both published by Macmillan in the UK. She also co-edited the bestselling Creative Writing Coursebook.


Gaylene Gould concentrates on what she loves and does best – writing, talking and listening. She is a fiction writer, and past student of the Birkbeck MA. She presents documentaries and reviews for Radio 4 and works as a creative coach with writers, arts organisations and the trailblazing The School of Life. Her mission is to excavate the quiet truths within ourselves and wider society.

Martina Evans, Oladipo Agboluaje & Astrid AlbenIn this first programme, Julia interviews the poet and novelist Martina Evans about her new ebooks and the process of revisiting and revising previously published work and the self-publishing process; Gaylene interviews the playwright Oladipo Agboluaje, who has just has his first collection of plays published by Oberon; and the poet Astrid Alben reads three poems from her first collection Ai! Ai! Pianissimo.
