Katrina Naomi's first full collection The Girl with the Cactus Handshake was shortlisted for the London New Poetry Award. She won the 2008 Templar Poetry Competition with her pamphlet Lunch at the Elephant & Castle and was the first writer-in-residence at the Bronte Parsonage Museum in Haworth, W Yorks. The Bronte Society published her pamphlet of Bronte-related poetry Charlotte Bronte's Corset in 2010. Katrina is a Hawthornden Fellow and is working towards a PhD in creative writing at Goldsmiths, researching on violence in poetry. She teaches creative writing for the Open University. She is originally from Margate and lives in south London.
