Kate McLoughlin

Kate McLoughlin joined the Department of English and Humanities at Birkbeck in 2010, having previously taught at the University of Glasgow for four and a half years.  Before that, she was a Junior Research Fellow at Balliol College, Oxford, and was awarded the MacKenzie Prize by Oxford University, the Smith-Reynolds Fellowship by the Ernest Hemingway Foundation and the inaugural Edith Wharton Essay Prize.  She is an Associate of the Royal College of Music (piano) and her first book of poetry, Plums, was published by Flipped Eye in 2011.
