Melbourne author Wayne Macauley's debut novel, Blueprints for a Barbed-Wire Canoe, was published by Black Pepper in 2004 to wide acclaim, his second novel, Caravan Story, was nominated a 2007 Readings Book of the Year, his third book, Other Stories, a collection of short fiction, was shortlisted for a 2011 Queensland Premier's Literary Award. His highly acclaimed novel, The Cook, released by Text Publishing in October 2011, has been listed a fiction book of the year by ABC Radio National, The Australian, Sunday Herald Sun and Readings Bookshop. It has been shortlisted for a West Australian and Victorian Premier's Literary Award and for the Melbourne Prize Best Writing Award. He lives in Melbourne with his partner and daughter and tutors in creative writing at the University of Melbourne.
